Tybee Island is a beach destination in its own right, but it’s equally satisfying as just an afternoon trip. We checked out the beach, saw the lighthouse and museum (we decided not to take a tour of the museum because it was almost closing time) but enjoyed wandering around. After we wandered around a bit, we ate dinner Spanky’s (located at 1605 Strand Ave, Tybee Island, GA 31328) where there was a resident cat sleeping on one of the chairs.

We're headed to Savannah, Georgia where you can find southern charm along with manicured parks, meticulously preserved architecture, cobblestone streets, charming townhouses, and visit iconic landmarks. **This post may contain affiliate links. I receive a small amount of compensation when you purchase from my links which help to keep this blog running.** We are in search of a new place to live and Savannah is on the list of places to explore. Gary has been retired since 2007. Since I work for myself, and am location independent, I can be anywhere there is an internet connection. Our quest for the ideal place to live began in 2009. Even though we spend the winters in Costa Rica, it has just gotten too cold here in Northern Virginia. And after our snow storm in December 2009, we started seriously looking. In one week, we will be walking through the magical streets of Savannah… On our list of things to do: tour the historic district walk through Forsyth Park explore downtown take a trip to Tybee Island to see the lovely beaches and lighthouses maybe checkout a museum or two And, eat a lot. Because, we’re really good at that. Have you been to Savannah? Any suggestions of what to do or see? Recommended Posts
