There’s something timeless about a classic wedge salad — crisp iceberg lettuce, creamy blue cheese dressing, salty bacon, and juicy tomatoes all come together for a perfect balance of texture and flavor. But this version takes the traditional wedge salad and gives it a colorful, fresh upgrade!

Loaded with heirloom cherry tomatoes, crunchy bacon, creamy blue cheese crumbles, and a drizzle of homemade blue cheese dressing, this salad is not only delicious but absolutely gorgeous on the plate. It’s perfect as a starter for a dinner party or as a light lunch.

​Wedge Salad Recipe

Ingredients:
For the Salad:
1 head of romaine lettuce, cut into 4 wedges (or iceberg)
1 cup heirloom cherry tomatoes, halved or quartered (mix of colors for visual pop)
4 slices crispy bacon, crumbled
1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles
Salt & pepper to taste

For the Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup buttermilk (or regular milk to thin)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar or lemon juice
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:
​Make the Blue Cheese Dressing:
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk until smooth.
  2. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and vinegar.
  3. Fold in blue cheese crumbles.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Assemble the Salad:
  1. Wash lettuce in salad spinner. Cut into quarters. Place each wedge on a plate.
  2. Generously spoon blue cheese dressing over the top, letting it cascade down the sides.
  3. Scatter heirloom tomatoes around and on top of the wedge.
  4. Sprinkle with bacon crumbles and blue cheese.
  5. Finish with a little cracked black pepper.

For extra flavor, chill your lettuce wedges in the fridge for 15 minutes before serving.
