We’re visiting our friends Linda and Rosey in Santa Fe, New Mexico this week. Yesterday, they took us to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, located 10 miles northwest of Taos. It’s called the “Gorge Bridge” and the “High Bridge” by locals. At 565 feet above the Rio Grande, it’s the seventh highest bridge in the United States.
After we parked, we were treated with seeing Bighorn Sheep. This is my second time seeing these beauties – the other time was when we visited Yellowstone and a herd of them crossed in front of our car. |

This little guy was left behind. He seemed to be afraid of walking on the cliffs. I watched him for a long time, breathing hard, getting up his courage to make the trek back down into the gorge.
