Every year on the third Saturday of August, we take a moment to appreciate one of nature’s most hardworking—and often underappreciated—pollinators: the honey bee. This year, National Honey Bee Day falls on August 16, 2025, and it’s the perfect time to learn more about these tiny heroes, their vital role in our ecosystem, and how we can protect them.
Why Bees Matter
Honey bees are responsible for pollinating about one-third of the food we eat—from apples and almonds to cucumbers and coffee. Without them, our world would look (and taste) very different.
