Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 Earl Grey tea bag (or 1 tsp loose leaf)
- ½ cup (120 ml) hot water
- ½ cup (120 ml) cold milk (dairy or plant-based like oat, almond, or soy)*
- 1–2 tsp vanilla syrup (or ½ tsp vanilla extract + 1 tsp honey or maple syrup)
- Ice cubes
- Optional: pinch of dried lavender (for a floral note)
Steep the Earl Grey (and lavender, if using) in ½ cup hot water for 3–5 minutes. Remove tea bag or strain leaves. Let it cool slightly or chill in the fridge for a few minutes.
Stir in vanilla syrup or your sweetener of choice while the tea is still warm, so it dissolves easily.
Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour the sweetened, cooled tea over the ice.
Add cold milk over the tea and stir gently to combine.
Sprinkle with dried lavender or add a lavender sprig for a beautiful finishing touch.
- Almond milk – light and slightly nutty, works great if you don’t mind a thinner texture.
- Cashew milk – creamier than almond, with a more neutral taste.
- Macadamia milk – rich, buttery, and smooth — an excellent choice for lattes.
- Hazelnut milk – adds a warm, toasty flavor that pairs beautifully with Earl Grey.
- Want a stronger tea flavor? Use 2 tea bags for a more robust brew.
- Use cold-brewed Earl Grey for extra smoothness and zero bitterness
