It's the final week (actually the final couple of days) of 2024 and here's photos of my restaurant meals that stood out this year and where to get them.

I had this lovely meal of Flame Grilled Cauliflower Steak with Pea Mash and Caramelized Figs with a side of Sweet Potato Fries with Truffle Mayo at the DO & CO Albertina, the restaurant located in the Albertina Museum in Vienna, Ausutria
Gluten Free Vegan Mac & Cheese

Gluten Free Vegan Mac & Cheese from Charlie's Crew in Paris, France.  My friend and I went to this lovely cafe three times during the week we visited back in June. I had this dish twice (it was so good!) and then had Baked Shakshouka the other time.  It was also delicious!
Cataplana

Cataplana is a Portuguese word that refers to both a cooking vessel and a seafood stew.  I was introduced to Cataplan by my friends when I visited them in Vila Nova de Milfontes.
Black Ink Squid Pasta (​Spaghetti al nero di seppia)

A friend of mine really loves this dish, so when she found out I would be going to Venice, where this recipe is one of the most common recipes of the Italian coastal regions, she told me I had to try it.  

It was so good, I had it twice while we were there.

Brunch Do Notre

While visiting Porto with some friends, we decided to try Do Norte Cafe by Hungry Biker. The cafe, located at Rua do Almada, 57, Porto, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.  

They don't accept reservations and we know it is quite popular brunch spot, so we decided to go at 1 p.m.  Even then we still had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated. I had the Brunch Do Norte with Gluten Free bread.

The food was amazing so we decided to go back the next day for brunch again.

Another visit to Porto (with another set of friends), we went to Mercado Balhao.  Upstairs there's several restaurants and we ate at Casa Vegetariana. The roasted cauliflower steak was delicious!

Steak on a Stone

While visiting Albufeira, we went to El Rancho on Fisherman Beach. One of the house specialities is Steak on a Stone, a Portuguese dish where a raw New York Strip steak is served on a hot granite slab and cooked at the table.

While we were visiting Albufeira, we took a day trip to Faro.  When it was time to eat, we meandered until we found Restaurante Sol E Jardim.  The restaurant is huge and we got there before it was too crowded but the service was a bit slow.  But the food was worth it.
