Venice Christmas Boat Parade
It’s a magical time of year! People are in a great mood and places are illuminated with the spirit of the holidays. Combine that with boating (we do live at the beach) and what do you get? Lighted boat parades!
Since 1989, Venice has been having their Christmas Boat Parade. Even though this is our third Christmas living in Florida, it was our first year to attend this spectacular event.
Beautiful multi-million dollar yachts, canoes and other small boats are decorated with lights, Santas and other holiday themes. This year their were 32 boats that participated.
A lot of the floats have themes others are just a mishmash of lights. One had an Eiffel Tour on the back in honor of the Paris Terrorist Attack on November 12, 2015.

The Christmas floats starts just north of the Albee Road Bridge. The parade continues down the Intracoastal waterway and out the jetty.
The Christmas Boat Parade happens the first Saturday in December. So if you happen to in SW Florida at that time, I think that this event is not to be missed. It brings joy and happiness to all that view it.
My favorite was the train-themed boat. Which was yours?
