Bordalo Street Art
Artur Bordalo, also known as Bordalo II, was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1987. He is famous for using street garbage to create animals sculptures to warn people about pollution and all types of endangered species.
His works are considered "trash art" but I think they are stunning and inventive.
Follow along as I discover this wonderful pieces of art both in Portugal and around the world.

I was first introduced to Bordalo's art through two friends when we visited the Museu Coleção Berardo located at Praça do Império, 1449-003 Lisboa (the Belem train station is the closest). You'll discover this raccoon if you visit the gardens of the museum.
I visited Coimbra (for the second time in September 2022) and discovered two more Bordalos.
This one is located on the University grounds near to the Cabinet of Curiosities.
The gorilla is also in Coimbra. I can't tell you exactly where it is located other than on the side of the building on the main street along the river. We were walking back into the city center from the Botanical Gardens during the rain with our umbrellas up. If I hadn't moved my umbrella up to see where I was going, I probably would have missed it. I think is is near the Pedro e Inês bridge because that's what we were looking for.
Next, I discovered the rabbit when I was visiting Porto for the first time. It's actually located in Vila Nova da Gaia. See me in the photo on the right. It definitely gives you a sense of how large it is!
This Lynx is located very near to my apartment, at the Oriente Station. If you walk directly through the Vasca de Game mall, you'll find in near to where all of the flags are. I visited at night, but plan to go back during the day soon.
