3.1 Fascination, Curiosity and Flexing Your Manifesting Muscle
I’ve been doing this program along with you as I’m interested in up-leveling and can you believe we’re already on week 3? Remember you are a vibration match for what you are currently experiencing now so if you want something different you have to change your vibration and take action.
This week we start flexing our manifesting muscle. There are so many ways to manifest so I will be giving you one to three ways to manifest in each lesson (so as to not overwhelm you) over the remaining lessons.
But first lets learn about fascination and curiosity...
Fascination and Curiosity
In the mid- to late-1990s, I attended a Unity Church in Fairfax, Virginia. One Sunday, a visiting preacher spoke about judgement and criticism.
She said to judge or criticize what you or others do leads you away from your authentic self. Instead you must look at it with fascination and curiosity.
A couple of weeks ago, I did something that could’ve been labeled as “utterly stupid.” Ten years ago, my response would have been something like, “OMG, you are such a fat, stupid idiot! I can’t believe you did that!” Then I would have stuffed my face for comfort, and then beat myself up some more.
Thank goodness, a lot has changed in the past ten years, including me not being so hard on myself. Instead of berating myself, my response went something like, “Linda, that was really fascinating. What was going on, darling?”
In life, you can look at an experience in one of two ways: judgement or fascination/curiosity.
Judgment keeps you stuck. Fascination allows you to move ahead.
Judgment reveals opinions. Curiosity uncovers facts.
Judgment involves telling. Curiosity means asking.
Judgment leads to depression. Fascination points to hope.
You can judge how you behave in relationships, the foods you eat, or the choices you make. On the other hand, you can move toward your deliberately created self by merely looking at what you do in the same way a child looks at life – with fascination.
Take a look at some common judgments and how you can turn it around to fascination or curiosity.
Judgment: Drinking this Diet Coke is bad.
Fascination/Curiosity: I wonder how this will make my body feel?
Judgment: I fell off the wagon.
Fascination/Curiosity: I wonder why I ate so much?
Judgment: He doesn’t like me.
Fascination/Curiosity: Hmmm… do I like me?
Judgement: I shouldn’t eat pizza. It’s bad.
Fascination/Curiosity: Does this pizza nourish my body?
Judgment: She has a better body than me. Fascination/Curiosity: Fascinating! Why am I comparing myself to her?
Judgment: I am such a bad person.
Fascination/Curiosity: Wow! Why am I so irritable?
Judgment: I never finish anything.
Fascination/Curiosity: Wow…what am I afraid of?
Do this both with judgments/criticisms toward yourself and others and see how you can turn them around.
I remember this preacher saying that if she didn’t have anything nice to say when someone did or said something to her, she would say, “That’s interesting.” She responded but there was no judgment.
Manifesting Processes
1. Decide What you Want and Ask for It. Ask for what you want in the form of a prayer or statement. In the Bible it states, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”
This is one of my favorites and one that I started with and can get instantaneous results.
Just today as I’m writing this lesson (it’s Thursday, March 12), I used this form of manifestation with instant results.
Just a bit of background first ... From November to just after April, it is very busy with probably twice as many people here in SW Florida than who normally live here ~ from the snowbirds to vacationers to the spingbreakers. The traffic can get very congested. I went to Detweiler’s, a Amish grocery store, this afternoon. They have excellent produce, meats, cheeses, etc. for very reasonable prices so they are usually quite busy and during this time of year find a parking spot can be very challenging.
Last time I went to this store, I had to park in the overflow parking and walk quite a distance. This time as I was driving from my massage, I decided that I wanted a close parking space because I didn’t want to ruin the effects of my relaxed state. So as I was getting ready to turn into the parking lot, I asked for a parking spot close to the entrance and believed it to be true. I said, A parking spot close to the entrance manifests for me now.
A parking spot close to the entrance manifests for me now.
A parking spot close to the entrance manifests for me now.
Literally, as I turned into the parking lot, there was a space right in front of the door. I had to back up because I didn’t see it at first.
Depending on what my desire is, I may say it three times as an affirmation. Why three times? There is power in the number 3.
Throughout history, different religions and metaphysical modalities (Reiki, Numerology, etc) there is the mention of 3 ~ the holy trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). Three is the number of creation.
2. Affirmations. Since I’ve mentioned the Power of 3, I thought I would continue with affirmations since those are usually said in 3s..
An affirmation is defined as a statement of positive assertion.
Using the power of positive affirmations on a daily basis is an excellent and highly effective way to help you to manifest the life of your dreams. Making positive statements is amazingly powerful, and the more often you say them the better.
Tips for creating affirmations:
1. The words must be positive.
2. It must be in the present tense as if it is already happening.
3. It is important that when you are saying these affirmations that you believe that the words that you are saying are true.
4. For yourself. You can’t manifest for others.
5. Make them powerful with words of emotion.
6. They must excite you.
7. Short and sweet.
In previous lessons, I’ve given you some affirmations. You can use these (provided that you believe them to be true for yourself) or make up your own.
1. I give myself permission to feel good about making the money my desires require.
2. I am at one with having a tremendous amount of money.
3. Money comes to me everyday in fun and easy ways.
4. The next step in creating everything I desire is easily expanding into giving and receiving more.
5. I have the answers and the courage to step into my next level of service and wealth.
3. Be a Magnet for Money. I’m not sure how I stumbled on to this YouTube video “I am a magnet to money!” but I’m glad I did. I used this along with Life Scripting (more on this one in another lesson) to manifest a $45,000 real estate sale in less than 30 days.
In January, 2005, I vacationed in Costa Rica. I fell in love with the country and decided that I would retire there in 2009.
While there, I visited a new development under construction and purchased 3 condos (there’s that number 3 again) ~ a one bedroom for me to live in and two studios that I would rent out to provide me with income. The condos were completed in July of that year and I furnished them and hired a management company to rent them out.
In early 2006, one of the independent contractors who worked in my massage business approached me about buying my business as he was retiring from his full-time job. This was 3 years earlier than I planned, but when an opportunity presents itself, I say go for it. He wanted to take over July 1, 2006.
Now my plans were moved up or at least I thought. In May, I met Gary who is now my husband. I told him that I was moving to Costa Rica in November and I didn’t believe in long distance relationships but we could hang out until I left.
He asked me to marry him in October...so instead of moving to Costa Rica, I moved to his house in Alexandria. He retired in May 2007 and we got married in July 2007 and were now free to travel. We would spend 3-5 months (our winters) in Costa Rica. In 2008, we purchased another condo together selling two of mine around the same time.
In 2010, the tax laws in Costa Rica changed and weren’t as advantageous as they once were so Gary and I decided to sell our remaining real estate holdings. On October 30 2011, when we arrived for the winter, I wrote what I wanted to manifest and I would watch “I am a magnet to money” video every day and then I would sing/hum it on my walk.
I don’t remember the exact date that I got a signed contract, but I remember that we closed on November 27 ~ less than 30 days after my intention to manifest. And in Costa Rica, there are no mortgages so it was a cash sale.
